With the Community Decision Making Process (‘CDMP’) Hearings having been concluded, the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that the Formal Reading of the Kahnawà:ke Cannabis Control Law will take place tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at 10am.
No further feedback or changes will be accepted at this event – it is, simply, a requirement of the CDMP.
The stage of the process is being pre-recorded for later broadcast on Paul’s Cable and the Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission website at www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com, as well as other social media platforms. The Law itself will be posted on the website, in both a final ‘clean’ version, as well as the version that includes tracked changes following feedback from community members at the November 20th, 2018 CDMP Hearing.
The reading of the Law is being completed in this manner due to disrespectful and threatening behaviors exhibited by some community members at recent meetings. Community members who wish to witness the Final Reading are asked to contact Joe Delaronde at 450-632-7500.
